The LP Gas Safety Association promotes safety in the industry and to this end presents a variety of training courses to cover all needs. As from August 1997 in terms of the OHS Act, only Registered LP Gas Installers shall install and maintain LP Gas installations.

Training Options


The LPGas Safety Association is involved with related training at various levels. The following are the formalised courses which are run on a regular basis :

Cylinder Filling Training Manual - Half day
Filling Site Assessor Course - Two days
Domestic Installer Course - Four days
Commercial Installer Course -Two days
Industrial Course – Four days
Auto Conversion Installer Course -Three days
Legal Compliance seminar – Four hours (Directors, Owners and Dealers)
Custom made courses – Related to LPGas and risk. Can be designed and run to suit the specific needs of interested groups

One day LPGas Induction Training Programme

(Available on request for groups of 10 or more)

This course is intended for all personnel entering the LPGas Industry from Producer to Distributor to Dealer. All personnel who would require a basic knowledge of LPGas including sales representatives. The course is based on and makes use of the Domestic Installer Course Notes, but does not go into the physical side of installing appliances. Equipment etc.
